Bajura. The incessant rain that occurred last night has caused a lot of damage in Bajura. The Sanfe-Martadi road section connecting the district headquarters has been obstructed due to landslides in different places due to incessant rains. Landslides have occurred at different places along the road section.

The road has been obstructed due to landslides at Prison, Binod Memorial Waiting Hall, Selagad, Suwakandh and other places along the road. The vehicular movement has also been obstructed due to landslides at Rapka of Badimalika-8 and Jadanga of Ward No. 6.

Vehicular movement has come to a standstill due to the obstruction of the road. The landslide caused by the incessant rain on Saturday night has buried the buffalo shed of Min Bahadur Thapa. Similarly, three houses in Gadkhet of Badimalika Municipality-8 were completely damaged, said Surya Kiran BK, ward chairman of Badimalika Municipality-9. Two dozen families have been displaced due to the flooding in Veere Khola. More than 22 families have been displaced due to the flooding of the waterfall due to the incessant rain overnight. Although there has been no human or physical loss due to the flood, the families have been displaced. 41 families of Birekhola have been affected by the floods, said Parare Baduwal, acting ward chairman of Badimalika-6. Due to the floods, the paddy fields of farmers have turned into barren lands. The rain has also damaged the district headquarters Martadi Bazaar. Water has accumulated in the sewers at different places of the market and the road has been blocked. The electricity service in the district has also been disrupted due to the rain. The exact details of the damage caused by the rain in the district on Saturday are yet to be received.
