Kathmandu. The Nepal Army has intensified search and rescue, relief and health services in the flood-affected areas. The Nepal Army has rescued five people from different affected areas till 1 pm today. A total of 3,967 people, including 3,692 domestic and 275 foreigners, have been rescued so far, according to the Nepal Army.
A team of 55 engineers from the Nepal Army has expedited the construction of a bridge over the Tadi River at Devighat in Bidur Municipality-5 of Nuwakot. The team is constructing the 60-meter-long, 5.5-meter-wide and 50-tonne Acro Bridge.
Meanwhile, a search and rescue team and a team comprising representatives of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project have reached the powerhouse and control point and are engaged in the search operation.
KATHMANDU: A team of eight Nepali Army (NA) along with rescue equipment has been continuously deployed in the search and rescue work at the powerhouse and tunnel of Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project.
The Nepal Army team, which entered the Trishuli-3B project through Audit-2, has been eliminated from Audit-1. Also, work is underway to clear the road so that the excavator can be taken from the Audit-2 tunnel.
A joint team of domestic and foreign members of the Chilime Hydropower Project is working to remove the silt using mini excavators and mud pumps. The team has reached a distance of about 50-60 meters from the powerhouse. Similarly, the work of lowering the excavator is going on in the tunnel area through a sling operation in Syaphrubesi.
A team of foreign technicians at the Upper Trishuli-1 Project is preparing to search further inside the tunnel using thermal cameras.
The Nepal Army has continued its search and rescue operations from Mailung to Syafrubesi in the affected areas. So far, 3,298 people have received health services through the emergency treatment centers and medical patrol set up by the Army in Trishuli and Dhunche.
More than 9,300 personnel of the Nepal Army have been deployed directly from Timure of Rasuwa to the affected areas of Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and Nawalparasi East. They are coordinating the search and rescue of the injured, assisting in the management of dead bodies, transporting relief materials, resuming the blocked roads and bridges and providing emergency treatment.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Army has airlifted 20 oxygen cylinders to Trishuli.
