Kathmandu . More than 87,000 LP gas cylinders have been brought to Kathmandu Valley in the last three days. These gases have been brought to the Kathmandu Valley using alternative routes to ease the supply system that was disrupted after the road collapsed at Krishnabhir area of Dhading along the Prithvi Highway.
According to the NOC, a total of 87,877 gas cylinders have been brought to Kathmandu Valley from factories based in Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Dhanusha and Mahottari.
According to NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur, 24,494 cylinders arrived in Kathmandu on September 3, 34,134 on September 2 and 29,249 on September 4.
Tankers and gas bullets carrying petroleum products were stopped midway after the road was blocked in the Krishnabhir area on August 28 due to the erosion of the Trishuli river. After the closure of the main highway, the corporation has started supplying through alternative routes.
The corporation has said that arrangements have been made to transport fuel and LP gas by using alternative routes to avoid shortage of fuel and LP gas in the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding areas. In addition, the corporation has instructed the gas industries to regularize the refilling and transportation work even on public holidays to ease the gas supply.
