Kathmandu. On the occasion of Bhadra Krishna Aunsi i. e. Kushe Aunsi and the day of the father’s face, a large number of devotees have gathered at the historic Gokarneshwor Mahadev Temple premises in Kathmandu today. <\/p>\n
Devotees from different parts of the country have queued up in the temple premises since early morning to perform tarpan, pind daan and sidadaan especially in the memory of the late father. Located in the northeast part of Kathmandu, this pilgrimage site is also worshiped as ‘Uttargaya’, so today’s new moon is also called ‘Gokarna Aunsi’. <\/p>\n
According to religious beliefs, by going to the Gokarneshwar temple premises and performing tarpan and pind daan, the ancestors attain salvation and the ancestors up to 21 generations will be saved. Devotees are bathing on the banks of the Bagmati river near the temple and performing ritualistic shraddha and charity for the father’s self-peace. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
