Kathmandu. Stakeholders have alleged that the one-door system has been implemented in the relief and rescue of flood victims and caused huge loss of life. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a program organized by the National Awareness Campaign in the capital on Saturday, they accused the RSP government of misusing the people’s vote for corruption and misgovernance. Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi said that the government’s apathy and irresponsibility in the relief and rescue operations of the flood victims in the Bhotekoshi area has resulted in a huge loss of lives. Tripathi accused the incumbent government of showing the arrogance of two-thirds majority even in natural calamities, saying that the misuse of public opinion was not limited to misgovernance and corruption, it was seen through a one-door system in relief and rescue operations. “<\/p>\n
Ganesh Nepali’s self-immolation, Laxmidevi self-immolation attempt at Maitighar, compulsion to give birth on the streets in Saptari, dozers in squatter settlements, closure of insurance program and other incidents have made the incumbent government a servant of the upper class. Senior advocate Dr. Surendra Bhandari said that billions of rupees have been collected in the government coffers for the relief and rescue of the flood victims and less than 10 percent has been mobilized. <\/p>\n
The present government did not allow the international agencies to carry out rescue operations, causing a lot of human casualties. He accused the anti-people government of hijacking the Genji movement and getting two-thirds of the votes on its foundation. <\/p>\n
Bhandari claimed that the people made a big mistake by giving more votes to the RSP to express their dissatisfaction with the old ones. Janak Pariyar, coordinator of Rastriya Jagran Abhiyan, accused the incumbent government of making the situation uncomfortable by imposing a one-door system for more victims. Nirmal Pariyar, a youth leader of the Labour and Culture Party, accused the incumbent government of trying to uproot the poor people and also playing a role in the relief and rescue of the people affected by natural disasters. Executive Director of Samriddhi Foundation Bibek Thapa said that he has distributed relief materials to Rasuwa and other places. <\/p>\n
He also informed that there is a shortage of essential materials for the flood victims. Jenji activist Supriya Nepali said that the present government formed by hijacking the Genji movement is anti-people. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
