The government is preparing to implement the concept of &#8216;Book Free Friday&#8217; and &#8216;Skill in Education&#8217; across the country from the next academic session with the objective of making school education practical and skill-oriented. <\/p>\n<p> Minister for <\/p>\n<p>Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel said this at a programme organized in different schools of Siraha and Saptari on Saturday while collecting suggestions from stakeholders for revising the National Curriculum Framework-2076. <\/p>\n<p> He said that the goal is to implement &#8216;Book Free Friday&#8217; and &#8216;Skill in Education&#8217; program from the next academic session to connect students with practical knowledge, skills and useful education instead of limited them to textbooks. According to Minister Pokharel, the national curriculum framework of school education is being revised keeping in mind the changing times, the development of technology and the need for employment. For this, a task force is being formed and suggestions are being collected from students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders across the country. &#8220;The new curriculum will be prepared on the basis of suggestions received from students, teachers and other stakeholders,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the process of printing textbooks would be forwarded as per the new curriculum once the new curriculum is prepared. <\/p>\n<p> Stating that the existing curriculum has not been able to provide useful and practical education as per the need of the time, Minister Pokharel said the new curriculum would be prepared keeping the needs of the new generation and future at the centre. <\/p>\n<p> He said that the overall education reform program would be carried out effectively along with the curriculum revision by coordinating and facilitating among the federal, state and local levels. Chief Advisor to the Education Minister Shailendra Jha said that suggestions of students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders are being collected at the community level to make the national curriculum framework implementation-oriented. He said that education should be made timely, practical, technology-friendly and useful for life. <\/p>\n<p> Mahendra <\/p>\n<p>Parajuli, executive director of the Curriculum Development Center, said that the task force formed to revise the national curriculum framework is working on it.
