Kathmandu. Businessmen and professional personalities who have been leading the sectors in industry, business, energy, banking, insurance, tourism and hospitality have been honored at the Asian Professional Achievement Award-2026. <\/p>\n
In the seventh edition of the award organized by Season Media, businessmen and professionals from various Asian countries, including Nepal, were honored. The first President of Nepal, Dr. The award was presented to the personalities who have contributed to industry, business, energy, banking, insurance, tourism, hospitality, education, journalism, art,<\/p>\n
aviation, social service and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
Prem Bahadur Shrestha, chairman of Panchakanya Group, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Industrial Leadership for his contribution to the industrial and business sectors. Ambika Prasad Poudel, chairperson of High Life Agro Foods Industries, was honoured with the ‘Outstanding Business Leadership Award’ while Bhim Prasad Ghimire, vice-president of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), was honoured with the ‘Industrial and Business Leadership Award’. <\/p>\n
In the energy sector, Ganesh Karki, former chairman of Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) and Managing Director of BG Group, has been awarded the ‘Energy Leadership Excellence Award’. Similarly, Urmila Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of Salt Trading Corporation, has been awarded the ‘Excellence in Corporate Leadership Award’. Hotel Association Nepal President Binayak Shah has been awarded the ‘Hospitality Industry Leadership Excellence Award’ for his leadership in the tourism and hospitality sector. Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya was awarded the ‘Vision Leadership in Urban Development and Public Service Award’.<\/p>\n
On the occasion, senior journalist and writer Dharmendra Jha was honoured with the ‘Senior Nepali Journalism Award’. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, Cardiac Surgeon of Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, Dr. Bishwa Pokharel, Vice President and General Manager of MetLife, Nirmal Kaji Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of Garima Bikas Bank, Madhav Prasad Upadhyay, Senior Captain of Nepal Airlines, Bhawana Panta, Founder and CEO of Ina Center, Uddhav Bartaula, Chairman of Facial House, Sushma Mahara, Founder and CEO of Kangaroo Education Foundation, Mahesh Babu Timilsina, Senior News Presenter Sama Thapa and other personalities from various fields were also honored. Similarly, the award was given to the people from Japan, India, Malaysia, Bangladesh and China.<\/p>\n
Senior freelance photographer Noboru Takaoka from Japan, senior photo journalist Purushottam Diwakar from India, Cheong Kwei Sheng, president of International Drone Aviation Federation of Malaysia, Sharif Sarwar from Bangladesh, Joesen Chen, education and technology entrepreneur from China and media and social advisor Weni Kai were among those honoured in different categories. <\/p>\n
According to the organizers, the award is intended to be developed as a platform to recognize the achievements and leadership abilities of the personalities who have contributed to the business and professional sector. Chairman of Season Media Pradip Raj Onta said that the program has been organized with the objective of expanding business relations, collaboration and experience exchange by bringing together businessmen and professionals from Nepal and other Asian countries on one platform.<\/p>\n
According to him, the award is not limited to trophies and honors, but is a means to recognize the hard work, struggle, achievements and social contribution of people working in various fields. He said that the program will be continued with the aim of expanding the relationship between Nepal’s talents and business and creative personalities of Asian countries. <\/p>\n
Business and professional personalities from Japan, India, Malaysia, Bangladesh and China were also honored under the international category. The organizers claim that this will connect Nepali businessmen and professional personalities at the regional level and provide a platform for the expansion of international business relations. <\/p>\n
Speaking at the program, former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav said that honoring the personalities who have contributed to various sectors will inspire the new generation to work in their respective fields.<\/p>\n
He urged the awardees to further expand their contribution and work for the welfare of the society and nation. <\/p>\n
Season Media has organized the seventh edition of the award with its 18th year of journey. In the coming days, the program will continue to connect businessmen, entrepreneurs, media persons, and creative personalities from Nepal and various Asian countries on one platform. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
