Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary has said that the government is working to formulate policies and procedures for the promotion of organic and organic fertilizers along with the management of chemical fertilizers. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a meeting of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee on Thursday, Minister Chaudhary said that works are underway to systematize the distribution and management of chemical fertilizers for the current year. She said that Nepal has not been able to produce chemical fertilizers so far and has to depend on the international market and the fluctuations in the international market will also affect Nepal. Stating that work procedure was being formulated for organic fertilizer, she said that the government would forward plans and programs only on the basis of policy and resources.<\/p>\n
She said that concrete guidance is also needed from the committee on the use of organic and organic fertilizers as an alternative to chemical fertilizers. She said that the discussions in the committee meeting should not be taken as accusations and counter-accusations but as a necessary dialogue for policy making. <\/p>\n
Minister Chaudhary said that the government was moving ahead for the formulation of long-term policy related to agriculture and forestry sector, stressing the need of effectively developing the agriculture and forestry sector of Nepal. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
