Speaking at the inauguration of a passenger help desk at New Bus Park in Gongabu on Friday, Sitaula urged the people to sell tickets only according to the fare fixed by the Department of Transport Management. <\/p>\n
He said, “Citizen help desks are being set up in different civic help desks, at 15 places in different places. I would like to make a special request to make a special request that no one should take a single rupee more than the fixed fare.” He said that the condition of the road during this festival is more difficult than in the past. He said that the travel on the highways has become difficult due to the floods in Bhotekoshi and natural disasters in different parts of the country. <\/p>\n
“The country is in a state of chaos due to the floods in the Bhotekoshi river,” he said, adding that it is difficult to travel on all the highways including Nagdhunga, Balkhu to BP Highway, Araniko Highway, Pasang Lhamu Highway in Kathmandu. He also demanded that passenger vehicles should be given priority on the roads during the festival season. He urged the government to give priority to public passenger vehicles rather than private vehicles. <\/p>\n
He also drew the attention of the security agencies to systematize unnecessary checks on the highway.<\/p>\n
According to him, the public vehicles heading to any destination from Kathmandu should be checked at a specific place and sent with necessary details and arrangements should be made to ensure that unnecessary checks should not be done repeatedly on the way. <\/p>\n
“Once a vehicle passing through from here is checked at Nagdhunga or Koteshwor, then that vehicle should automatically reach Pokhara, that vehicle should reach Baglung and that vehicle should reach Jhapa,” he said, “If any vehicle is suspected, the security agencies can check it anywhere.” But if there is a problem, the vehicle does not reach Kathmandu on time, the vehicle does not reach the destination on time. He said that passengers, drivers, co-drivers, employees, businessmen and security personnel should work with patience during the festival period. Recalling the situation in the past when passengers had to stay in buses for two days due to road obstruction, he said that all sides should be aware to prevent such a situation from happening again. <\/p>\n
He urged the local levels and security bodies to mobilize volunteers to ease the movement of public vehicles during the festivals. He said that local volunteers should be mobilized especially on the road sections including Dhading to help in traffic management. <\/p>\n
He also asked the passengers to check the destination and date mentioned on the ticket properly. Urging the passengers not to buy tickets from unauthorized persons, he said that they should buy tickets only from the official counter. <\/p>\n
He urged the drivers and staff to behave well with the passengers. “Right now, without any kind of bargaining, you can speak very well while sitting at the ticket counter, don’t get angry with anyone,” he said. <\/p>\n
He said that a decision will be taken in a few days after discussing with the Department of Transport Management and the government on opening the ticket booking in advance. According to him, the FNJ officials will impart training to the transport employees and related parties on preparations for the festival at 9 am on Saturday. <\/p>\n
He also urged media persons and social media users not to disseminate unconfirmed information. He said that if black marketing is found, there will be no compromise on it. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
