Kathmandu. Nepali Congress youth leader Lekhraj Joshi has announced his candidacy for the post of central member of the Nepali Congress. Joshi has announced his candidacy with the campaign ‘Congress that fits all’.

Joshi, who came out of student politics, has announced his candidacy with a blueprint to make the party organization stronger, dynamic and generation-oriented.

‘I will work keeping youth participation, good governance, internal democracy and overall prosperity at the center of politics. The youth of today should be connected with entrepreneurship and should be accustomed to new technology. Our education and political culture should also be in accordance with this. I am a contender for the party’s central member with the intention of carrying the sentiments and voice of the entire youth in the party,” Joshi said.

He expressed the belief that the party delegates would give him more energy by making him victorious this time as he has been continuously active in the issues of party organization, social transformation, educational awareness and people’s livelihood in Kailali and Kanchanpur for long. According to him, the presence of youths at the policy level is essential to take the Nepali Congress ahead as per the needs of the new era and new generation and not just to win elections.

He pledged to bring the problems of cadres and citizens to the center of the party’s policy-making. He also stressed on making the party’s membership distribution and information system completely digital and transparent, linking youths to entrepreneurship, technology and leadership development.

He plans to set a clear vision from the party for budget and policy reforms that will make youths self-employed in their own villages and to play a role in finding opportunities to stop the rapid exodus of youths from the villages.

He pointed out the need to put an end to factionalism and internal tussle within the party and establish a transparent system where the loyal, honest and hardworking cadres are properly evaluated. He also insists that a zero-tolerance policy against corruption should be adopted to maintain good governance and transparency among the party’s people’s representatives and leaders.

Joshi said that he is not contesting for any personal position or ambition but for the voice of the cadres of the remote areas and the bright future of the younger generation. Joshi, who has made a name for himself as a struggling personality within the Nepali Congress, has been active in the mainstream politics of the party since 2053 BS. He has been a member of the Nepal Student Union (NSU) unit and a central member of Panchodoya Secondary School in Dhangadhi. In addition to this, he has been elected as the regional secretary of Kanchanpur Constituency No. 2 and has also worked as a district member, district joint-secretary and Mahasamiti member.
