The cover layer of the foldable display of the iPhone Duo can be changed

. Apple has said that the cover layer used on the inner display of its foldable iPhone Duo can be replaced if it is damaged or worn out. Kate Bergeron, Apple’s vice president of hardware engineering, said that the cover layer can be removed and a new layer can be placed.

This layer helps to reduce the crease seen in the middle of the foldable display. According to Apple, the company has done a lot of engineering work to keep the cover layer in good condition for a long time. However, after a long period of use, if the layer gets dragged or the crease of the display becomes more visible, the customer will be able to keep a new cover layer.

In the US, the replacement fee is $19 for AppleCare Plus customers. For customers who do not have AppleCare Plus, Apple has not announced the fee.

The

cover layer replacement is likely to be done through the Apple Store and the official service provider. The company has not clarified whether the user will be able to remove the layer themselves and keep a new one. Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo will start on October 16 and will be available in the market from October 23.
