Nepali Congress leader Deepak Giri has announced his candidacy for the post of Central Vice-President in the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. <\/p>\n<p> Giri said that he decided to file his candidacy for the post of vice-president keeping in mind the present situation of the party, the changing political situation, the expectations of the cadres and the people and the role to be played by the Nepali Congress in the coming days. He presented his candidacy as a campaign to make the Nepali Congress more united, organized, people-oriented, democratic and dynamic. Deepak Giri has been playing an active role in the Nepali Congress organization, democratic movement and national politics for a long time. From building the party&#8217;s organization to raising the issues of the people as a people&#8217;s representative and expressing his clear views on national political issues, he has been continuously contributing. Deepak Giri said his candidacy was focused on the following political and organizational priorities. <\/p>\n<p> He has also put forward various agendas. He said that his agenda is to unite and strengthen the entire party by rising above factionalism, to make the party&#8217;s organization more active, systematic and result-oriented, to properly respect the contribution and capacity of the leaders and cadres who have contributed for a long time, to strengthen internal democracy, transparency and accountability within the party and to make youths important partners not only as the future of the party but also as important partners of the present leadership and decision-making process. <\/p>\n<p> Similarly, to ensure meaningful participation of women, youth, Dalits, indigenous nationalities, Madhesi, Muslim and backward communities, to establish the NC as a political organization connected with the people not only during elections but at all times, to link good governance, transparency and anti-corruption campaign with the political culture of the party, to give priority to agriculture, employment, entrepreneurship, education, health, tourism, information technology and production-oriented economy. <\/p>\n<p> He said that his candidacy was to build a modern, technology-friendly and digital Congress in line with the changing generation, technology and social context. Announcing his candidacy for the post of party vice-president, leader Deepak Giri said, &#8220;I have come to take the responsibility of making the Nepali Congress stronger, united and trustworthy of the people. My candidacy is in favor of the entire Congress. Congress workers are the strength of our organization. Respecting them, proper evaluation of their contribution and faith in the future is my political priority.<\/p>\n<p>Underlining the need of making the NC a &#8216;party competing for policy, ideology and results rather than competing for posts&#8217;, Giri said the upcoming general convention should be taken as an opportunity to hold serious discussions on the party&#8217;s policy, organization and future direction along with the selection of leadership.<\/p>\n<p> He also pledged to make the NC stronger by combining his political experience, long association with organizations and continuous contact with the cadres and the people as the basis of the upcoming leadership. He said that he filed his candidacy with the motto of &#8216;Congress above faction, responsibility above post and results above speech&#8217; for the trust and support of the general convention delegates, leaders and cadres.  <\/p>\n<p>Giri&#8217;s Political Journey: <\/p>\n<p> Giri, who joined student politics from Banaras under the guidance of BP Koirala, has been active in Nepal&#8217;s democratic movement since 2033 BS. He has been continuously active in his political life, making the commitment of the Nepali Congress to democratic values, nationalism, social justice and people&#8217;s rights as the basis of his political life. Giri, who has played a continuous role in the campaign of strengthening the party organization from the local level to the district, state and center, has been effectively raising the voice of the people of western Nepal including Dang in national politics. As a former lawmaker and minister, he tried to communicate directly with the people and connect local needs and problems with policy making. He also stressed on establishing organization, cadres and public relations as the main basis of political power within the Nepali Congress. <\/p>\n<p> He has a clear commitment to the values of the democratic movement, the rule of law, freedom of expression and protection of the constitution. <\/p>\n<p> Giri, who has been advocating for giving opportunity to the new generation and honoring the leaders and cadres who have contributed to the party for a long time, has been of the view that the Nepali Congress should be re-established as a strong and reliable political force on the basis of policy, ideology and organization. Giri presented his candidacy as not just an attempt to get the post but as a campaign to make the Nepali Congress a trustworthy, people-oriented and modern democratic force of the next generation by building a bridge between experience, organization and the new political generation.
