KATHMANDU \u2014 Coordinator of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has created a new history in the party. <\/p>\n
Addressing the inaugural session of the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress in Kathmandu on Sunday, Dahal congratulated Thapa for taking the party towards a new history by breaking the continuity. <\/p>\n
He said, “I always used to say that you should be able to break the continuity. You have led the Congress to a new history by breaking the continuity. I would like to congratulate you for that. “<\/p>\n
Prachanda said that the country is going through an extraordinary, complex and challenging situation. Stating that thousands of people have lost their lives, a large amount of property has been destroyed and thousands of people have gone missing due to natural disasters, he said that the Congress general convention is going to be held in such a situation. <\/p>\n
He recalled seeing Gagan Thapa as a person who can lead the country since he served as the Health Minister when he was the Prime Minister for the second time. Thapa said that they are with him saying that he has the courage to lead the country now. <\/p>\n
‘I thought you would eventually be able to lead this country one day, I see you coming today. It is a very big responsibility. You move forward. We are ready to fully support you,” he said. <\/p>\n
Prachanda said that there should not be a sense of division between the new generation and the old generation within the Congress. He said that the society should move forward by including all generations as the old, the adult and the youth will move forward together. <\/p>\n
Claiming that democracy and the constitution were in a difficult situation in the country, he called on all political parties to work together to further strengthen the federal democratic republic and the constitution.<\/p>\n
“In such a situation, it is necessary for all political parties to move ahead together to further strengthen the constitution and the federal democratic republic,” he said. <\/p>\n
Stating that the remaining works of the peace agreement should be completed, Prachanda said that Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa should take responsibility for it. He said that the peace process should be completed by further strengthening the achievements of inclusive democracy.<\/p>\n
Prachanda said that there is a need for an understanding between the Congress, the Left and other political forces in the coming days. He was of the view that all should move forward together to build a prosperous, peaceful and democratic Nepal. <\/p>\n
He recalled that he had repeatedly ‘broken the order’ in his political journey and said that it was the turn of the new generation. <\/p>\n
Prachanda expressed confidence that the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress would be a milestone in building a new Nepal and wished for the success of the general convention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
