KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Ramhari Khatiwada has said that the party should move ahead by making it more united by incorporating all sides in the party. <\/p>\n
Talking to Nepal News Bank, Khatiwada said that more than 7,500 representatives from across the country and leaders and cadres from abroad participated in the general convention. He said that the general convention has created new enthusiasm among various communities including youths, intellectuals, former democracy fighters, women, Dalits, Janajatis and backward classes. He also said that the representation of all sides has been ensured in the convention. He said, “More than 7,500 delegates from all over the country have participated. Friends from abroad have also come. The general convention has created new enthusiasm among the youth, intellectuals, former democracy fighters, women, Dalits, Janajatis and backward classes. The Congress has moved ahead by giving representation to all sides. Khatiwada also urged the leaders and cadres who had left the party in the past to reunite under the leadership of the Congress and take the party forward. He was of the view that the leaders who have been jailed for democracy, who have been shot and have contributed to personal and political freedom, should not leave the party and go elsewhere. <\/p>\n
“We should move ahead by taking everyone together, not by abusing them, not by speaking bitterly,” Khatiwada said, adding, “We should not only unite the Nepali Congress, but also bring all the democrats across the country together.” He said that he was confident that all the leaders should come together to make the party first and dear in the coming days. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Khatiwada said that although he was preparing to file his candidacy for the post of General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, he decided to stay in the post of joint general secretary after discussions with the party leaders and cadres.
