NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the party’s general convention schedule has been affected due to the incidents of disaster and efforts to create an environment of greater unity in the party. <\/p>\n
Addressing before the commencement of the closed session of the NC General Convention here today, Thapa said that the party had arrived in course of fulfilling its legal responsibilities and the party’s programmes were also affected due to the disaster that occurred in the meantime.<\/p>\n
He said, “Our programs were affected due to the disaster. At the same time, we were also trying to create an atmosphere of greater unity within the party. While bringing all the friends together, there were some scheduling. Stating that he had put in his best efforts to create an environment of greater unity in the party, he said other leaders including the Vice-President and other leaders of the party who did not participate in the special general convention had also extended their support for the unification.<\/p>\n
Stating that the party’s statute has also made it necessary to update the membership, he said that the work of updating the membership should be continued even after the general convention. He said that due to the political situation within the party, the members who have not been updated should be given an opportunity to participate in the general convention. Thapa said that the schedule of the general convention has been affected due to a special political decision. <\/p>\n
He said that if the membership details were updated on time, the disputes seen in various places during the general convention could be reduced. He said that if all the members had NC ID numbers, there would not have been any problems arising during the convention. <\/p>\n
Thapa said that the decision on membership was postponed till the last moment while trying for unity in the party and this has had a direct impact on the schedule of the general convention. Stating that around <\/p>\n
7,000 delegates are participating in the general convention, Thapa said that problems have been faced in the management of the closed session due to lack of appropriate space to accommodate a large number of delegates. <\/p>\n
According to him, preparations have been made to inaugurate the general convention at Khula Manch in Kathmandu.<\/p>\n
He said although preparations were underway to conduct the closed session in a systematic manner, it was difficult to find a suitable place to accommodate a large number of delegates. <\/p>\n
Thapa also apologized for the inconvenience caused to the delegates during the closed session.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
