The closed session of the Nepali Congress has been affected due to rain <\/strong><\/p>\n . The closed session of the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress has been affected today. Although the delegates of the general convention were preparing to endorse the discussion on various proposals and reports in today’s closed session, the closed session was affected due to sudden storm and rain, said Devraj Chalise. <\/p>\n The closed session, which was supposed to start from 10:30 am, was scheduled to start from 11:3 <\/p>\n 0 am after lunch time. However, it has been affected due to heavy rain accompanied by a sudden storm. Delegates of the convention have not been able to come to the Khula Manch. <\/p>\n The Congress is holding a closed session at the Khula Manch. The election committee is conducting the election at the dining venue at Bhrikutimandap and at the National Assembly House. Voting will be held tomorrow morning. <\/p>\n Entry is open to all in the closed session of the Congress, which will be broadcast live <\/p>\n In the closed session, the delegates of the general convention are preparing to conclude the discussion on various proposals and reports and pass them. Spokesperson Devraj Chalise said that all those who have been admitted to the open session have been opened to enter the closed session. According to him, the closed session was also opened to all in the special general convention earlier. <\/p>\n He said that the closed session will also be broadcast live from the Facebook page of the Nepali Congress. In addition, other media will also be able to broadcast the closed session live. In the closed session, President Gagan Kumar Thapa presented a political proposal on ‘National Renaissance and Prosperity’, Vice-President Bishwa Prakash Sharma presented a contemporary proposal on ‘Decay of Political Culture and Responsibility of Transformation in Tune to the Times’, General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire’s report on structure and treasurer Umesh Shrestha’s financial report will be passed after deliberations. The delegates of the General Convention have been expressing their views on the proposals and reports since Monday in the closed session.<\/p>\n During the discussions, the representatives put forth suggestions and views on the party’s future political direction, strengthening of the party, improvement in political culture and financial management, among others. <\/p>\n Member of the Information, Communication and Technology Committee of the Nepali Congress, Dr Suresh Acharya, said that the general convention representatives of all the seven provinces as well as the party’s sister organizations and well-wishers also participated in the discussions.<\/p>\n According to him, the closed session will resume from 10:30 am, but there may be some delays. The process of passing the proposal and report will be forwarded by incorporating the remaining views and suggestions. <\/p>\n President Thapa to address <\/p>\n After today’s program of the closed session, party President Gagan Kumar Thapa is scheduled to address the general convention delegates. The Congress is preparing to formally conclude the closed session discussion with the address of the party president. <\/p>\n Extensive discussions are underway on the party’s future course of action and organizational structure in the general convention. After the receipt of the political, organizational and economic report from the closed session, the Congress general convention will move towards the process of selecting the leadership. <\/p>\n The party has already filed its candidacy for the election of a new leadership in the party’s 15th general convention.<\/p>\n Gagan Kumar Thapa, Shyam Krishna Khadki and Kishor Singh Rathore have filed their candidacies for the post of president.
