Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) and District Hospital sign agreement for health service improvement <\/strong><\/p>\n
Kalikot A bilateral agreement has been signed between Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Jumla and Kalikot District Hospital for health service improvement. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Academy and the hospital on health service delivery, human resource mobilization and institutional strengthening.<\/p>\n A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Academy and the hospital to make the overall health system of the district pro-people and reliable. Chief of Health Service Office, Kalikot, Dr. Ratnabir Sunar said. <\/p>\n “As per the agreement between the two parties, the Academy will mobilize specialist doctors, intern doctors and nursing manpower based on the needs of the Kalikot Hospital,” he said, “The Health Service Office, Kalikot will take full responsibility for the necessary local management, coordination and operation of the health workers to be deployed in the district.” “<\/p>\n The two institutions have agreed to cooperate in health services, teaching-learning, human resource development, research and specialist health services. In addition, an agreement has also been reached to provide practice, observation and clinical learning opportunities as per the need in the district hospital for the rural posting of the students of the academy. Sunar said. <\/p>\n Similarly, the Academy will help in conducting necessary training, orientation and skill development programs for the capacity building of doctors, nurses and other health workers of the hospital. Regular CMEs, workshops and seminars will be organized for doctors and health workers in coordination with both the organizations. <\/p>\n According to the agreement, the Academy will help to conduct free health camps in the remote areas of Kalikot on the basis of available resources and manpower. Counseling, testing and treatment services will be provided through camps with specialist doctors as per the need and mutual consent. It is stated that direct coordination will be made with the Academy for the treatment, referral, expert consultation and necessary follow-up of the patients of complex nature. <\/p>\n Similarly, joint studies and research, experience sharing and service improvement programs will be conducted while maintaining the confidentiality of health data. <\/p>\n According to Katak Mahat, information officer at the District Health Service Office, Kalikot, both sides are committed to making service flow regular, effective and qualitative.<\/p>\n “This agreement will further strengthen the Kalikot District Hospital, which is facing a shortage of skilled human resources and specialist doctors,” he said.”With the supply of human resources from the Academy, the compulsion of patients of complex nature to go out of the district for general treatment will be removed and the service delivery will be more effective,” said Dr. Sunar.
