He said, “One should be firm in one’s beliefs and have a clear policy. Politics is a policy in which one should be clear in one’s mind that I will do this.” “<\/p>\n
He said that while standing up for the truth, one should be ready to face its consequences. Referring to India’s ‘Quit India Movement’ associated with his father BP Koirala and Matrika Prasad Koirala, he said that it is also necessary to have the courage to pay the price for speaking the truth. <\/p>\n

Koirala said that he had to face punishment for boycotting schools as per the call of Mahatma Gandhi. <\/p>\n
Koirala also said that the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress was an important opportunity to unite the party. Stressing that the NC should move ahead unitedly in the upcoming elections, he claimed that no force could defeat the party.<\/p>\n

He said that the party is strong due to the long history, ideas and clear policies of the Congress. He said that under the leadership of the Congress, the country has undergone significant changes in various sectors including roads, education, health, banking and private sector. <\/p>\n
Stating that the Nepali Congress should not misuse its power, he said that the people joining politics should keep the welfare of the people at the centre.<\/p>\n

“The Congress will not misuse power, it should not and will not,” he said. <\/p>\n
Stressing that politics should be done for truth, policy and people’s welfare and not for personal interest, Koirala urged the NC leaders and cadres to move ahead being committed to the party’s ideology and principles.<\/p>\n
