Kathmandu. The flood in the Budhi Gandaki River in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3 of Gorkha district has damaged houses, suspension bridges and motorable bridges in various places. According to preliminary information, the floods have damaged various areas of Chumnubri, Arughat and Dharche rural municipalities and five shepherds have been left out of contact. <\/p>\n
According to Shiva Upreti, a journalist based in Gorkha, the water level in the Budhigandaki river has increased due to the landslide at Ungilung River in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-6 at around 4 am. He said that the flood has damaged the settlements and infrastructure around the river. <\/p>\n
According to preliminary information, the camp of the 341 MW Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project at Salleri of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3 has been swept away by the floods. Similarly, the suspension bridge of Bhyako, the suspension bridge connecting Film and Nyakchet and the suspension bridge at Thado Bhanjyang have also been damaged. <\/p>\n
Nine houses in Jagat Bagar, five houses in Salleri, and three houses in Thado Bhanjyang have been swept away by the floods, Uprety said. <\/p>\n
Similarly, the Manbu-Soti motorable bridge connecting wards 1 and 3 of Arughat rural municipality and the bailey bridge over Dobhan river connecting wards 1 and 3 of Dharche rural municipality have also been swept away by the flood. The motorable bridge at Arughat connecting Arughat rural municipality and Tripurasundari rural municipality of Dhading has also been damaged. <\/p>\n
