Jamara was kept in Ghatasthapana by pacifying Vaidhriti Yoga and Chitra Nakshatra: Pandit Dahal <\/p>\n
Kathmandu. On the first day of Bada Dashain, the Jamara was kept at the Dashain Ghar in the historic Hanumandhoka Durbar Square of Kathmandu on the auspicious occasion of Ghatasthapana. <\/p>\n
Pandit Venupahari Dahal of the Sharduljung Company of the Nepal Army stationed at Hanuman Dhoka said that Ghatasthapana was performed according to the Vaidhriti Yoga and Chitra Nakshatra. <\/p>\n
He said that the work of keeping the Jamara was completed by invoking the Nawadurga Bhagwati by performing the peace rituals as per the advice of the Gurus. <\/p>\n
According to him, the auspicious time for Ghatasthapana was fixed at 11:46 am on Sunday. He said that the work of planting jamara was done methodically by making a resolution on the same time. <\/p>\n
‘There was a yoga that was especially due to the fall of Vaidhriti Yoga and Chitra Nakshatra, which led to the loss of wealth and the destruction of one’s offspring. It is appropriate for everyone to make peace with that yoga and then keep the Jamara after performing Ghatasthapana,” he said. <\/p>\n
According to Dahal, there is a tradition of making peace by performing ritualistic worship in such a situation. For this, the gods and goddesses of 27 constellations should be established and worshipped, he said. <\/p>\n
Dahal said that there is religious significance of keeping Jamara in Dashain. According to him, Jamara is considered to be the main and sacred of food grains and is considered as a favorite item of Durga Bhagwati.<\/p>\n
He said that there is a tradition of planting jamara on the day of Ghatasthapana, offering water for nine days, worshiping and worshiping the goddess. He said that it is customary to worship Navdurga for nine days and pray for power, while on the day of Dashami, it is customary to take the prasad of the goddess by applying tika and jamara. <\/p>\n
According to Dahal, Dashain is also considered as the victory of truth over falsehood and religion over unrighteousness. On this occasion, the religious belief of Durga Bhagwati over Mahishasura and Lord Rama over Ravana is remembered. <\/p>\n
