Mugu. An elderly man has been killed with a khurpa in Chhayanath Rara Municipality of Mugu. Police have arrested a person with a khurpa within two hours of the incident on the charge of murder. <\/p>\n
According to the police, Ajay Kami, 33, of Karkibada of Chhayanath Rara Municipality-5 had attacked Dhanbir Kami, 73, with a sharp weapon at around 7.3 <\/p>\n
0 am on October 12, 2008. Dhanbir had sustained serious injuries on his head and neck. <\/p>\n
The injured Dhanbir was immediately taken to the District Health Service Office, Thini, Mugu for treatment. The doctors declared him dead during treatment. A 35-member police team was deployed under the command of Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabiraj Thapaliya from the District Police Office, Mugu, to search for Ajay, who was absconding after the incident. A team of forensic officers under the command of Police Inspector Basanta Bahadur Bhujel reached the spot and collected the case. During the search, the police arrested Ajay at around 9:30 am on the same day while running away with a khurpa in his hand on the jungle road leading to Rara Lake in Chhayanath Rara Municipality-3. The police have also recovered a khurpa used in the incident from him. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabiraj Thapaliya of District Police Office, Mugu informed in a press conference that Ajay has been kept in police custody and further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the wife of the deceased Dhanveer has said that there has been a dispute with the accused’s family for three years. According to her, there was a settlement between the two families last year. However, she said that she felt that the family of the accused was harboring old grudges. <\/p>\n
“There was a quarrel in the accused’s house for three years. Last year, both the families had reunited. But they were keeping a grudge in the house of the accused. Today, killing my old man with a weapon is due to a big anger,” she said. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
