Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom customers will now be relieved from the hassle of going to the office to get a SIM card. Nepal Telecom has started the service of delivering SIM cards to the customer’s home in collaboration with the Department of Postal Services. <\/p>\n
The service, which started on Wednesday, was inaugurated by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Bikram Timilsina in a program organized at the Department of Postal Services. He started the service by receiving a SIM card himself through the postal service. <\/p>\n
As soon as the service starts, SIM cards will be delivered to the customers using the nationwide network of the Postal Services Department. This is expected to make it easier for customers who need to go to the telecom office to get a SIM card. <\/p>\n
During the inauguration of the service, Minister Timilsina instructed to make efforts to deliver the SIM cards before the stipulated time. He said that the service should be made more effective on the basis of the time taken to distribute the SIM cards and the satisfaction of the service recipients. <\/p>\n
He also stressed on the need to expand the capacity of the postal service and develop a system that can complete the delivery that takes one or two days in the coming days within a few hours. He mentioned that there is a possibility of faster delivery, especially in urban areas. <\/p>\n
It is believed that the collaboration between the two government-owned agencies will make it easier to bring the service of Nepal Telecom to the doorsteps of the citizens.
