Kathmandu. The second edition of ‘Kathmandu Horror Film Fest’ is being organized by Nepal Film and Cultural Academy targeting the international festival ‘Halloween’, which is celebrated every year on October 31.

According to the festival chairperson KP Pathak, the festival aims to promote the development of genre films in Nepal by celebrating horror films.

‘There is an audience for the horror genre in Nepal, but the director has kept this genre less in his interest. We started such festivals last year because they are effective in understanding the psychology and interest of the audience of such genres. Audience participation is increasing,” said Pathak.

The festival kicked off with the screening of Lebanese director Nadhim Tabet’s film ‘In This Darkness ICU’. The festival aims to create new opportunities for filmmakers and audiences by strengthening the presence of films in Nepal through international film screenings, audience participation and cultural exchanges, according to the organizers. The three-day festival will conclude this evening with a formal program.
