Jhapa. On the occasion of the 44th annual ritual to be held at Arjundhara Jaleshwordham in Jhapa, a mini marathon competition will be organized on November 24 with the aim of attracting youths to sports along with religious activities. <\/p>\n
The organizers have intensified preparations for the mini-marathon to be organized on the occasion of the rituals to be held from November 29 to November 7. According to Milan Basnet, coordinator of the Mini Marathon Organizing Committee, the competition will start from Arjundhara, Jaleshwordham and conclude at Pipalchowk via Sanischare drinking water, Salbari Jhal, and various branch roads of Arjundhara. He informed that the route, technical aspects and managerial preparations of the competition have been started. The Peethadhish of the Dham, Pt. Agni Prasad Sigdel said that the mini marathon is being organized with the objective of publicizing the religious and tourism importance of Arjundhara Jaleshwardham as well as connecting the local youths in sports activities. According to him, a plan has been made to increase the participation of the community by linking the religious rituals to worship, recitation and discourse only, but social, cultural and sports activities. <\/p>\n
The annual rituals will begin at Arjundhara Jaleshwardham, known as the ‘Pashupatinath of the East’, by circumambulating the city with the Kalash Yatra at 11 am on November 30. According to the Dham Committee, on the day of Bala Chaturdashi, the rituals will be concluded with the planting of Satbij and Purnahuti. <\/p>\n
During the ritual period, there will be daily Mandap Puja, Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Pravachan, Maha Aarti, Bhajan Kirtan and lighting of lac lamps.<\/p>\n
Bhagwat Bhaskar Guruji 1008 Pramod Sudhakar Maharajji of Mangaldham, Sikkim will recite the story. <\/p>\n
Chairman of the Dham Committee, Nabin Gattani, said that preparations have been made to organize the rituals in a systematic manner with the objective of establishing the dignity and identity of the Dham which carries historical and religious importance at the national and international level.<\/p>\n
The eight-day ritual is expected to generate an income of Rs 55.20 lakh and spend Rs 39.35 lakh. The committee has estimated that Rs 15.85 lakh will be saved from the programme. <\/p>\n
According to Ramesh Rai, chief of the publicity department and president of Arjundhara Press Club, 24 sub-committees have been formed for the operation of the office, pandal, electricity, accommodation, primary health care, security and traffic management. <\/p>\n
