Ltd. has started the service of delivering milk and milk products to every household through a mobile app. The company plans to gradually expand this service which was started on a trial basis in limited areas of Kathmandu and Lalitpur. <\/p>\n
According to Sumit Kedia, director of the company and former president of Nepal Dairy Association, the mobile app named ‘Sitaram Dudh’ has been launched to address the situation in which Sitaram products are not easily available even when they search for Sitaram products in the market. <\/p>\n
“In some places, consumers would look for our goods but we would not be able to provide them. The issues of margin and commission were also linked. So, we started the app with the idea that we should provide services directly to the consumers,” Kedia said. <\/p>\n
The company has been operating its outlet in Kuleshwor, Kathmandu as a dark store. Currently, this service is available in some places of Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts within 5 kilometers of Kuleshwor outlet. For this, the company has mobilized two riders. <\/p>\n
To order goods through the <\/p>\n
app, the consumer has to order a day in advance. According to the order, according to the order made from 6 am to 4 pm, the rider will deliver the goods at home from 6 am to 10 pm the next day. Consumers will be able to pay through cash, QR code or other digital means. <\/p>\n
The app is currently available on the Google Play Store for Android users. Kedia said that it took four to five months to develop and test the app. He said that there are plans to expand the service by informing consumers about the process of downloading, ordering and paying for the app. <\/p>\n
The company wants to expand the reach of the product through the mobile app and establish a direct relationship with the market through digital means. For this, the company has also launched its website. Kedia said that the purpose is to provide information about the company’s identity, production and price through the website and to make it easier for potential importers of foreign markets to get information about the product. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the company has also taken a strategy to use the popularity of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) to promote its products. The company is planning to provide a general ticket of NPL to consumers who order through Sitaram’s Milk and Milk Products app. Kedia said that arrangements in this regard are being made by the company’s sales team. The company has said that it will expand the door-to-door service launched in limited areas based on consumer feedback and operating experience. <\/p>\n
