Kathmandu. On the occasion of Crow Tihar 2083, the famous and multi-talented artist Ramesh Dulal ‘Kage’ has organized the 23rd Crow Conference by inviting hundreds of crows in front of the Narayanhiti Palace Museum in Durbar Marg, Kathmandu. <\/p>\n
On Saturday morning, Dulal gathered the crows flying in the sky in one place. The conference was organized by the Central Working Committee of the National Musicians’ Association and co-organized by Sandakpur Rural Municipality of Ilam. <\/p>\n
The program was sponsored by NRNA Senior Vice President Robin Sherchan, NRNA Vice-President Prabin Gurung and co-sponsored by Purna Prasad Lamichhane, Rajesh Karki, Rudra Prasad Chapagain, Shankar Prasad Acharya, Green City Hospital and Kora Holidays. According to the organizers, the conference has been organized to highlight the religious and cultural significance of the Crow Tihar, to preserve Nepal’s original traditions and to disseminate a positive message towards birds. <\/p>\n
Crow Tihar is a festival celebrated on the first day of Yamapanchak. In Nepalese Hindu tradition, the crow is considered as the messenger of Yamaraj. With the religious belief that the crow brings good news, it is customary to worship the crow by giving sweet food on this day. Crow Tihar is also considered as a festival to honor the crow who plays an important role in the cleanliness of nature. <\/p>\n
Dulal, who has a special ability to make the sound of crows, has been organizing crows conferences on the occasion of Crow Tihar for the last 23 years. He has been presenting the art of making the sounds of 173 types of animals and birds, including crows. Dulal’s art, which can also make the tunes of various musical instruments with the help of his mouth, has become a subject of attraction for the audience. Dulal, who organized the 22nd Crow Conference last year, has organized the 23rd conference this year.<\/p>\n
In the past, he has been organizing crow conferences at various places including Ratnapark and Narayanhiti Palace Museum. <\/p>\n
According to Dulal, when calling a crow, one should understand its nature and language and make a sound. He feels that after communicating with the crow in his language, they are attracted to him. <\/p>\n
According to the organizers, the conference will provide entertainment as well as convey the message of conservation of birds, importance of biodiversity and maintaining environmental balance. This campaign of Dulal, who has been continuing the tradition of Crow Tihar with art, has tried to introduce Nepal’s original culture and respect for nature to the new generation.<\/p>\n
