Nepali Congress leader Prakash Sharan Mahat has claimed that the soul of the Nepali Congress is in the party led by Sher Bahadur Deuba. <\/p>\n Addressing the 15th Kathmandu District Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) led by the Deuba faction here on Saturday, he said the party split was not done by them, but by the other faction. He said that the central committee had agreed to hold the party’s regular convention in April and if the convention was held as per that, a new leadership could be elected. He said, “Some people tell you that the tree and the flag are there. You have to go behind the tree, you have to go behind the flag. Fundamentally, it is not we who divided the party. They have divided the party.” Mahat alleged that the other side was trying to split the party on some terms and conditions and its impact reached the Election Commission and the judicial bodies. Stating that the Supreme Court has accepted that there were shortcomings and errors in the earlier decisions, he expressed confidence that the verdict would be in favor of justice. <\/p>\n He said, “If justice is still not dead in this country, we will get legitimacy through the review of the Supreme Court.” In any case, the main thing is that the soul of the Nepali Congress is in us. It is in the Congress led by Sher Bahadur Deuba. We have carried the ideas, principles and ideals of the Nepali Congress. He claimed that the Congress led by Deuba has adopted the ideology, principles, ideals and procedures of the party. Accusing the other side of the party of abandoning the democratic socialist ideology, he said that now they are talking about ‘social democracy’. <\/p>\n Mahat said, “They have done so much, they have introduced the process in Nepal, they have also abandoned the democratic socialist ideology. Now they have started calling it social democracy. The social democracy of the RPP and the social democracy of the Congress led by Gaganji. After that, they have given up the idea.” He said that there was a tradition of collective discussion in the Congress and taking decisions by incorporating the sentiments of all the cadres, but now the other side is moving on the path of individualism. <\/p>\n He said, “The Nepali Congress party should have taken a decision keeping in mind the sentiments of the cadres across the country after discussion among all the leaders.<\/p>\n He used to listen to everyone and agree with everyone and reach a conclusion. “<\/p>\n Mahat argued that the party has turned into individualism, arguing that the Nepali Congress lacks its culture, ideology, principles and methods under the current leadership. <\/p>\n He said, “The culture of the Nepali Congress is not there, the ideology and principles are not there, and the method is also not there. It has turned into individualism.
