Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is preparing to investigate into the transactions of private sector entrepreneurs. According to the Second National Strategic Plan Against Corruption (2082\/83 \u2013 2087\/88) unveiled by the CIAA, the policy and legal provisions will be improved in such a way as to criminalize the activities related to corruption in all sectors and to provide opportunities to correct the misdemeanors except in cases where the state is allowed to take undue advantage or loss. For this, the CIAA has planned to make necessary arrangements to eliminate corruption in the cooperative sector, public or private company or any other private organization and institution. <\/p>\n
According to the strategy, a new anti-corruption act will be formulated within 2 years to define corruption in the cooperative sector, public or private companies or any other private organizations and institutions, corruption related crimes and punishments, compensation for misappropriation or loss of private sector property, investigative and prosecuting bodies and other private organizations and institutions. <\/p>\n
Likewise, the anti-graft body has come up with a plan to amend the civil procedure code, 2074 and other acts and regulations related to the private sector as per the need to discourage all kinds of irregularities and corruption in the company, partnership firms, other private organizations and cooperatives. <\/p>\n
It has put forward a plan to punish the act of taking bribes in the economic, financial or business activities of the private sector. For this, the CIAA is preparing to make provisions in the new Act to punish the act of taking bribe and to amend the existing laws related to the private sector accordingly. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has planned to make legal provisions to curb the corruption activities by the private sector that cause misappropriation of government or public property or damage to public property. The anti-graft body is preparing to introduce a new legal provision imposing additional punishment on individuals or organizations who have caused government or public loss within 2 years. <\/p>\n
In its strategic plan, the CIAA has made public its plan to enact a law within 2 years to punish the cooperative sector and the public or the company or any other private organization, organization that manipulates the income and expenditure details in the records, or shows the expenditure that is not there, or uses false instruments or intentionally destroys the records. <\/p>\n
In order to make the purchase and sale of shares by the private sector regular, transparent and systematic, the company directive-2072 will be amended to keep the share record by submitting the original bank statement of the amount deposited in the seller’s bank account along with the voucher or cheque while verifying the record of the purchase and sale of institutional or individual shares. To prevent conflict of interest in the activities of private organizations and to maintain purity in the activities related to the business and to maintain purity in the activities of the concerned private organizations, to increase transparency by strengthening the internal audit and control provisions of the private organizations, to investigate whether the transactions of private sector entrepreneurs involved in public procurement have been carried out in accordance with the prevailing laws, The anti-graft body has put forth plans to conduct investigations, monitor the accounts of the private sector and monitor whether the established standards of auditing are followed and legal provisions to punish those who fail. \u2013 News Agency Nepal<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
