According to the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, a complaint was received at the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control after hair was found in the digestive nuts biscuits produced by the industry. <\/p>\n
Acting on the complaint, a joint team from the Department’s Biratnagar-based office and Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection Office, Morang inspected the production site of the industry. During the monitoring, the team collected samples of the complained brand of biscuits and sent them to the laboratory for testing. According to the department, action was taken as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 after the investigation found negligence. <\/p>\n
The industry was fined Rs 200,000 as per clause (e) of Section 35 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS. Senior Food Research Officer of the Department, Dr. According to the details certified by Bal Kumari Sharma, the industry has been ordered to deposit the fine amount in the government account within seven days and submit proof of the same.
