Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Pradip Poudel has criticized the government for removing the landless squatters in a hurry. Talking to media persons before the meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee of the Nepali Congress, he said that steps have been taken to cause pain to the genuine landless squatters without conducting any investigation. <\/p>\n
He said, “The investigation should have been done so that the real squatters do not suffer.” But the government has done the work of removing the squatters in a hurry. It seemed to be coerced and coerced by the state. Stating that the state should be supportive towards all citizens, Poudel reminded that enough homework was done to address the problems of landless squatters in the past. He said that there is a situation to distinguish between real and fake squatters on this basis but it has been ignored. <\/p>\n
“The state should be supportive of all,” he said. In the past, a lot of homework has been done about the squatters. On the basis of previous homework, there were grounds to distinguish who was the real squatter and who was a fake squatter. There were also real squatters within the large slums. They were also forcibly evacuated with a dozer. He said that even the real squatters living in the big squatters have been evicted using dozers and the state has not been able to fulfill its responsibility. <\/p>\n
Poudel said that the problem of landless squatters should not be removed until an alternative arrangement is ensured after taking time to study instead of immediately resolving the problem. He expressed the view that the management should be made in such a way that there is minimum suffering of the real squatters. <\/p>\n
“There is no situation where the state has fulfilled its responsibility.
