Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has blamed the government for obstructing the functioning of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee. Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has said that the meeting could not take place due to the absence of the Minister and the Prime Minister looking after the Home Ministry. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Angdembe said the committee was a prisoner of indecision in the absence of the ministers concerned, even though it was necessary to raise questions in the parliament about the recent tragic incidents in the country. He clarified that they could not participate in the meeting due to the absence of leadership of ministries concerned despite the committee’s request from the committee presidents time and again. <\/p>\n
Stating that they don’t have facilities like the ruling party, he said they were compelled to seek answers from the ministers concerned about the people’s voice and problems. He questioned the government’s sensitivity, saying the Prime Minister’s busy schedule and absence has created obstruction in the Committee meeting. He criticized the government for not being able to appoint ministers in an important ministry, saying how it would address the serious problems and responsibilities of the people. <\/p>\n
Stating that the people’s expression was hidden in the concerns raised by the lawmakers, leader Angdembe drew the attention of the government and the ruling party to give a way out immediately without making the committee hostage. <\/p>\n
