Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: As many as 20 commercial banks have announced new interest rates for the month of June. According to the data made public, there has been a slight decline in the average interest rate of banks in the month of May compared to the month of April. <\/p>\n
The average interest rate on personal deposits of commercial banks has come down to 4.343 percent in May from 4.4 percent in April. Similarly, the average interest rate on institutional deposits has also come down from 3.2295 percent to 3.204 percent. <\/p>\n
According to the data, most banks have kept interest rates stable while some have reduced them. Rates have been cut by NMB Bank, NIC Asia Bank, Himalayan Bank, Nepal Bank, Nepal Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Kumari Bank. NIC Asia, Himalayan Bank Ltd and Nepal Bank Ltd have reduced interest rates the most by 0.25 percentage points. Meanwhile, Siddhartha Bank has increased the interest rate on personal deposits by 0.05 percent. <\/p>\n
Citizens Bank has increased the interest rate by 0.5 percent while the bank has reduced the institutional interest rate by 0.5 percent. <\/p>\n
What is the interest rate of which bank?<\/strong><\/p>\n For the month of May, NMB Bank’s personal interest rate has been fixed at 4.8 percent and that of Rastriya Banijya Bank has been fixed at 4.75 percent, which is higher than other banks. Kumari Bank has the lowest interest rate of 3.96 percent. <\/p>\n However, the bank of Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Nabil Bank, Prabhu Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Sanima Bank, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Global IME Bank, Machhapuchchhre Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Prime Commercial Bank and Everest Bank have extended their interest rates for the month of May. <\/p>\n Banks seem to have made minor revisions to interest rates keeping in mind the liquidity situation and market demand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kathmandu.
