Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khumbu Oli has said that the demand of the Prime Minister in the House is not just to look at the face, but to seek accountability. Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, she said democracy was not just a system of winning elections but a practice of continuous dialogue. <\/p>\n
“Democracy is not just a system to win elections. It’s an exercise in constant communication. Therefore, we have called the Prime Minister in this place, not just to see his face. We have sought accountability from him. \u2019<\/p>\n
Stating that they had accepted that the Prime Minister walked out of the House without speaking in the first session, PM Oli expressed his dissatisfaction over the absence of the Prime Minister during the discussion on the policy and programme in the second session as well. <\/p>\n
She also commented that the Prime Minister always answers the country and people through social media whenever questions were raised on squatters and Constitutional Council in the House. He accused the Prime Minister of being unwilling to obey the parliament and not trying to be accountable to parliamentary practice. <\/p>\n
She said, “In the first session, the Prime Minister did not speak, we had accepted. The second session began, and it was his program for policies and programs. He stood up in the middle of the program without taking any involvement. He may have had some compulsions. We raise questions about the squatters and the Constitutional Council in the House, the Prime Minister answers the country and the people through his social media. Perhaps the Prime Minister is uninterested in this House. You are not trying to be accountable to parliamentary practice.
