Similarly, Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP) lawmaker KP Khanal drew the attention of the government towards the delay in the construction of the Soti Highway road linking India in the south and Naglakot border point of China in the north. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives, he said that only five percent physical progress has been made so far in the 359-km Soti highway construction that was initiated 16 years ago. <\/p>\n
He said, “The 359-km Soti Highway that connects India in the south and Naglakot border of China in the north has been completed even after 16 years, but physical progress is still at 5 percent.” The project was estimated to cost Rs 32 billion 16 years ago and today it has increased to Rs 52 billion. \u2019<\/p>\n
Initially, the cost of the project was estimated to be Rs 32 billion, but due to the delay in the project, it has now increased by Rs 20 billion to Rs 52 billion. <\/p>\n
“It will be easier to go to major tourist destinations like Ramarosan and Khaptad as promised by the Prime Minister. Not only that, after the construction of this road, this trilateral trade will be easy. Economic activity in the Far West as a whole will increase,” he said. <\/p>\n
