Guru Prasad Baral, a lawmaker from the main opposition party CPN-UML, urged the government to increase tax on tobacco products. Stating that the number of people suffering from tobacco products is increasing in Nepal, he urged the government to increase tax on tobacco products to control it. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking in the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Baral said that the tax rate on such goods has been increased extensively in India and Bangladesh as well and Nepal should also increase it. <\/p>\n<p>Lawmaker Baral made it clear that increasing the tax rate would be the most effective step of the government to control the consumption of tobacco products.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
