Kathmandu. The government has allocated Rs 37.46 billion for the upgradation of East-West Highway in the fiscal year 2083\/84. Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada presenting the budget in the Federal Parliament on Friday. Likewise, Swarnim Wagle said that the expansion of the East-West Highway into four lanes was a priority. <\/p>\n
The government has set a target to upgrade the 1,028-km East-West highway into four lanes within the next five years. According to him, the Kamala-Kanchanpur and Narayangadh-Butwal sections would be upgraded within the current fiscal year. <\/p>\n
Likewise, 80-km Kakarbhitta-Lokahi, Kamala-Bagmati, Butwal-Gorusinghe and Dhankhola-Lamahi road sections would be upgraded next year. <\/p>\n
Similarly, 14 road upgradation projects will be started in Bagmati-Pathlaiya, Narayangadh-Hetauda and Gorusinge areas. <\/p>\n
