Kathmandu. Kathmandu \u2013 The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced to provide health and counselling services at the doorstep targeting the senior citizens and people with disabilities. Presenting the policy and program for the fiscal year 2083\/084 in the 19th session of the municipal assembly on Sunday, acting mayor Sunita Dangol said the metropolis program would be implemented with senior and disabled citizens. <\/p>\n
According to him, free health check-up and counselling service would be provided to the senior and disabled people at their doorstep through the programme. Likewise, senior citizens above 75 years of age and residents with complete disability will be provided with nutrition allowance. <\/p>\n
She said, “Health and counselling services will be provided free of cost to the senior and disabled citizens at the doorstep of the senior and disabled citizens.” Nutrition allowance will be provided to senior citizens above 75 years of age and residents of metropolitan cities with complete disability. \u2019<\/p>\n
The KMC has also adopted a policy to institutionalize the existing ‘One Ward, One Model Programme’ with the goal of making it more effective and sustainable. According to KMC, a model plan will be implemented as per the needs and characteristics of each ward through this program. <\/p>\n
“The programme will be institutionalized to ensure the effective implementation and sustainability of the ‘one ward, one model’ programme,” she said. <\/p>\n
