Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, has said that the Ministry was treated as ‘orphan and neglected’, saying the innovation sector was subjected to political division in the past. Responding to the queries raised by lawmakers in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he clarified that although many of the ministries were known as new, it was established in 2053 BS. <\/p>\n
“Many people think that Mahavir Pun has come and formed a new ministry. This is not a new ministry. It is a ministry formed in 2053 BS, but at different times, it has been linked to one ministry and sometimes to another. In 2075 B. S., it was merged with the Ministry of Education. In this way, it was made like an abandoned and orphaned ministry,” he said. <\/p>\n
Minister Pun said that the establishment has been established as the Ministry which has been reincarnated now and termed it as the ‘seventh reincarnation’ of the Ministry. <\/p>\n
“This is the seventh reincarnation of the ministry. It was politicized. The politics of division consumed this ministry. So it was a despised ministry. The present government has brought it back as a new ministry. \u2019<\/p>\n
He said that he joined politics not because of personal ambition but because of love for the country and a sense of responsibility. <\/p>\n
“I became an MP and a minister because I loved the country. Otherwise, I am not a person who will be an MP or a minister. I had come to the village from America only to visit. First, he fell in love with the village, then with the district, and finally with the whole country. \u2019<\/p>\n
