Kathmandu. The Department of Information and Broadcasting has urged the seven broadcasting organizations operating without renewing the license to contact the Department within seven days. Issuing a notice on Thursday, the Department has requested the broadcasting institutions that have automatically canceled the license for not renewing as per the National Broadcasting Rules, 2052 to complete the renewal process as per the rules. <\/p>\n
According to the department, the validity period of the license and license is one fiscal year. If the license is not renewed within the stipulated time, it will be penalized in a phased manner and if the license is not renewed within six months, the license will be automatically canceled. <\/p>\n
According to the notice, the licenses of Gorkha Media Network Pvt Ltd, Upkar Media Group Pvt Ltd, Balbhadra Media Pvt Ltd, Annapurna Broadcast Media Pvt Ltd, Sayapatri Media Pvt Ltd, Social Media Pvt Ltd and Tim Television Pvt Ltd were revoked. <\/p>\n
According to the department, these organizations have been making income by operating broadcasting work without renewing the license as per the directive received from the Office of the Auditor General. Therefore, the concerned organizations have been urged to pay the broadcasting and distribution fee as per Rule 11 of the National Broadcasting Regulations and the fine levied on it. <\/p>\n
Earlier, the department had informed about the amount to be deposited through a letter on April 22, 2082, but the amount has not been deposited yet. <\/p>\n
“As per the directive received through the letter of the Office of the Auditor General, the following broadcasting organizations have been found to have made income by doing business by doing broadcasting work in the event of automatic cancellation without renewing the license obtained pursuant to the Act.
