Kathmandu. CHITWAN \u2014 The first national general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) underway in Bharatpur of Chitwan is coming to an end a day later than scheduled. The general convention is likely to be extended till August 26 due to higher participation of delegates and managerial challenges. <\/p>\n
Similarly, RSP lawmaker and leader Manish Jha shared that although the initial estimate of 3,000 delegates were concerned, the number could go up to 4,500. According to him, the participation of delegates from abroad is four times more than expected. <\/p>\n
Admitting that there were some managerial weaknesses and lack of working procedure since it was the first general convention, he said he took it as a learning. Efforts are underway to forge consensus within the party and if there is no consensus, preparations have been made to go for the election as per the democratic process. The registration process is currently underway and a separate team is working to accommodate the missing representatives. <\/p>\n
Leader Jha has made it clear that he will contest for the post of General Secretary of the party. He said that although he was a little confused in the beginning, he is now mentally prepared. <\/p>\n
Describing the post of general secretary as a big responsibility and risk, he said that he has decided to compete with the confidence that he can do justice to the post.
