Rautahat. Home Minister Sudan Gurung has carried out ‘surprise monitoring’ in the border areas of Bara and Parsa districts without informing the security agencies. Home Minister Gurung, who arrived in Birgunj this morning after attending the general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), inspected the security team and his official mechanism outside. <\/p>\n
Wearing a mask, cap and half T-shirt, Minister Gurung reached the border points without any recognition from anyone. <\/p>\n
During the inspection, he also inquired and interacted with the locals and senior citizens about the smuggling taking place across the border and the security arrangements. <\/p>\n
A video of the surprise inspection carried out by the Home Minister on Saturday has surfaced on social media. Talking to Home Minister Gurung in the video, the locals claimed that the smuggling was taking place in collusion with the officials of the Armed Police Force. <\/p>\n
However, it is not clear in the video that the video is from which point the Home Minister was talking to. The Home Minister’s secretariat itself had not made public any information about this sudden and secret visit. <\/p>\n
Police administration and local administration of Bara and Parsa, who are in charge of security and administration of the border areas, are completely unaware of the minister’s visit. <\/p>\n
According to sources, Home Minister Gurung has already returned to Kathmandu on Saturday after entering Thori via Madi of Chitwan and getting a first-hand understanding of the situation at the border points of Parsa and Bara.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
