Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said although there are some difficulties in managing the people living near the rivers, it would see positive results in the long run.\u00a0Talking to media persons after a meeting with party lawmakers on Friday, he said that in the past, efforts were made to relocate the people living near the river to safer places or to provide alternative land but these have not been effective. <\/p>\n
“In the past years, there have been attempts to relocate people living near the river to safer places or give them land elsewhere,” he said. Everyone felt the need for it, no party was against it. But those measures were not effective, so a new procedure has been adopted. \u2019<\/p>\n
Lamichhane admitted that the people have suffered for some time from the new process and expressed the belief that the end result would be positive. <\/p>\n
“I’m not saying it didn’t hurt the people,” he said. But if the result is good, then the current sorrow will be forgotten. I am sure that they will get a better result after the current two to four months of misery than they have been facing for a long time. \u2019<\/p>\n
Speaking on the issue of constitution amendment, Lamichhane said that an open discussion was needed to make the province structure more effective. <\/p>\n
“Everyone has felt the need to retrofit the provincial structure. Our point is that we should think about making the provincial structure effective, not cumbersome. The RSP has proposed to make it a matter of debate. \u2019<\/p>\n
According to him, the provincial structure is also an important issue in the debate on constitution amendment and it needs to be discussed with all-party consensus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
