Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung became emotional while speaking at the special time in the House of Representatives. Responding to questions raised in the parliament over the death of Ganesh Nepali, who died in an attempt to self-immolate in front of the Department of Passport, he appeared emotional as he could not speak for a while. <\/p>\n
Responding to the questions raised in the parliament, Home Minister Gurung said that the time to talk about service only by mouth is over. “It is not enough just to shout our throats, to serve the people,” he said. It’s been 50 years since we spoke, now we have to work with our hands. You have to serve your people. \u2019<\/p>\n
Home Minister Gurung raised questions about the situation in the incident site and drew attention on the role of local and state governments. <\/p>\n
He questioned the issue of the traffic police locking the wheels at the incident site and said that its responsibility was linked to the law and management of the local level. <\/p>\n
“One is the federal government, the state government and the other is the local government. The traffic did not lock the wheels at the place where the incident took place. Does any video show traffic locking the wheel?” <\/p>\n
Referring to the opposition parties, Home Minister Gurung claimed that they have a role in the local and provincial governments as well. “Who is the local government now? Who is the state government now? You have two tiers of government. Who made these laws? We have followed the laws made by you. \u2019<\/p>\n
Speaking in an emotional manner in the parliament, Home Minister Gurung said that the government should be run by reaching out to the people’s problems and not just through speeches. He said that they have been reaching the incident site directly to understand the pain of the people and urged not to take it as a stunt. <\/p>\n
Home Minister Gurung also questioned the lawmakers of the opposition parties about visiting the hospital to enquire about the condition of the victims. He demanded answers about the number of MPs who reached the hospital after the incident and their role. <\/p>\n
