Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, lawmaker Thagunna said that protecting the country’s sovereignty, national pride and territorial integrity was the main responsibility of the government.<\/p>\n

He said Nepal’s territorial integrity and national identity were established through the struggle of Nepali ancestors.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He claimed that India has encroached around 400 square kilometers of Nepali land including Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura. He said the presence of Indian security forces in the area, construction of roads, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and trade with Tibet are being carried out. He stressed that the government’s stance on a sensitive issue like the border issue should be clear, fact-based and in line with the national interest.
