Lawmaker Rai urges government not to expel temporary employees <\/strong><\/p>\n
Kathmandu.CPN (UML) lawmaker Rajendra Kumar Rai has urged the government not to sack employees on contract basis and temporary employees. <\/p>\n Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Minister Khatiwada drew the attention of the government to secure the employment of contractual and temporary employees who had gathered in front of the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n He said, “Yesterday, many employees were meeting in front of the Ministry of Finance and discussing. I was curious that when I asked what had happened, they said that our lives were over. We are serving the state and the people as contract and temporary employees. The new government is talking about expelling us saying that they have come to build the country. This has created a situation where our lives are going to be ruined. If we have to leave this place, it will be a big problem. “<\/p>\n Lawmaker Rai urged the government through the Speaker not to remove the contractual and temporary employees. <\/p>\n He said, “I want to appeal to the present government through the Speaker, they should not be expelled.<\/p>\n This is where their lives have been spent. The situation becomes even more complicated if we begin to expel our brothers who are already working abroad in search of employment. “<\/p>\n He cited the example of problems faced by removing landless squatters in the past without adequate preparation, and warned that the decision to remove temporary employees could lead to a similar situation. <\/p>\n ‘It has become a big problem now because of the unprepared eviction of squatters yesterday. The government is struggling to solve this problem.
