Nepal-Korea Labour Cooperation Seminar 2026 concludes on the need of transforming skills and capital of foreign employment returnees into entrepreneurship <\/strong><\/p>\n Kathmandu\u00a0KATHMANDU: Nepal-Korea Labour Cooperation Seminar 2026 has concluded with an objective of further strengthening labour cooperation between Nepal and South Korea. The programme was jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment in collaboration with the South Korean Embassy and EPS Centre. <\/p>\n Addressing the program, Minister <\/p>\n for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav said that the EPS program has not only generated financial remittance but has also been generating ‘social remittance’.\u00a0<\/p>\n “The Nepalese who have returned from Korea bring with them skills, discipline, confidence and professional experience, which has helped transform them from job seekers to job seekers,” he said.<\/p>\n “Out of the seven successful entrepreneur returnees honored by the Ministry recently, two are returnees from South Korea, which is a successful example of this,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n Giving the example of South Korea’s own development journey, Minister Yadav recalled that there was a time when Korean citizens also went there in search of work.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n “The visit to Korea sends an important message to Nepal: any country, starting from a labor-sending country, can transform into a nation that creates lucrative opportunities in its own country,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n This requires a clear national vision and policy to transform migration into skills, savings, investment and entrepreneurship, he argued. Describing the EPS model as an exemplary model for international labour migration, Minister Yadav praised its transparent selection process and digital system.<\/p>\n He said that the government is making important reforms to make foreign employment more safe, dignified and systematic and there is a lot to learn from the EPS model.\u00a0<\/p>\n Minister <\/p>\n Yadav requested both the governments to provide clear and reliable information to EPS aspirants and pay attention to workplace safety and mental health of workers.
