. Sarita Karki, a resident of Chaudandigadhi Municipality in Udayapur, has claimed that she was a victim of fraud and injustice worth Rs 7.4 million. <\/p>\n
Organizing a press conference on Saturday, Karki had paid Rs 5.4 million through a real estate company operated in the name of Umamaya Tamang for the purchase of 4 ana land in Kavresthali, Jitpur Phedi of Tarkeshwor Municipality, Kathmandu five years ago.<\/p>\n
However, she said that Umamaya Tamang absconded without transferring the land. <\/p>\n
According to him, a case was filed in the Kathmandu District Court in this regard.<\/p>\n
She said that the court on May 12, 2030 had ordered the government to freeze the land in the name of Uma Maya Tamang and her mother Chyauki Maya Tamang. Victim Karki said that an arrest warrant has also been issued against Umamaya Tamang. <\/p>\n
Karki has accused former chief minister Bahadur Singh Lama Tamang, Chyauki Maya Tamang and Jyoti Bikas Bank of colluding to auction the project despite the court’s order. According to him, after coming to know about the auction process, they reached the Nepaltar branch of Jyoti Bikas Bank and drew attention about it.<\/p>\n
“If the property was to be auctioned, we had expressed our desire that we should be allowed to acquire the land from the bank as it was the second holding party,” Karki said. <\/p>\n
But the branch manager deceived us by saying, ‘The owner of the land has not auctioned the money, so the auction will not take place immediately, we will inform you in case of auction’, Karki said. He claimed that the bank auctioned the property in the name of Bahadur Singh Lama after three months without any notice. Karki has demanded the concerned body to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident and take legal action against the culprits. Kumar Basnet, a member of Durga Prasain’s talk committee, said that it is a mockery of the rule of law that no one has given justice to the victims even after completing the legal process.
