. KATHMANDU: The International Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition-2083 is going to be organised in Kathmandu in December this year with the objective of modernization, mechanization and commercialization of agriculture sector of Nepal. <\/p>\n
According to the organizers, stall bookings for <\/p>\n
the exhibition have also been opened from July 1. The exhibition will be held at Bhrikutimandap on November 18, 20 under the slogan ‘Machinery and Technology in Agriculture: Prosperity of Farmers and Nation’. <\/p>\n
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Centre for Agricultural Infrastructure Development and Mechanization of the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment and Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs Association. According to Sunita Nemafuki, vice-president of Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs Association and central member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), more than <\/p>\n
one hundred national and international exhibitors will participate in the expo. More than 2,000 agricultural tools, equipments, machines and new technology from 10 countries will be displayed in the expo. <\/p>\n
According to him, special discount has been arranged for the members of the association as well as the domestic companies under ‘Made in Nepal’ and ‘Make in Nepal’ in the stall. Entry to the exhibition will be free for farmers, entrepreneurs and the general public.<\/p>\n
According to the organizers, modern agriculture, livestock, fisheries, floriculture, commercial vegetable farming, modern irrigation system, post-harvest technology, modern equipments related to agro products processing and marketing as well as improved seeds will also be put on display. <\/p>\n
According to the organizers, the objective of the exhibition is to inform farmers, agri entrepreneurs, consumers and policy makers about the latest agricultural technology, promote the use of agricultural machinery and market it, establish direct contact between entrepreneurs and consumers and attract new investment in the agriculture sector. The association has already organized five national agricultural mechanization exhibitions, one provincial exhibition and one international agritech exhibition.<\/p>\n
The organizers believe that this year’s international edition will be more comprehensive and technology-friendly.
