. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has accused the government of trying to amend the constitution and laws as per its vested interests. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a training programme of lawmakers organized at the party office in Chyasal, General Secretary Pokharel said that the government was preparing to amend more than one hundred and fifty laws in the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n
‘The law needs to be improved and amended. But the approach with which the government is moving forward, it should be noted whether the changes are for law reform or misuse,” he said. <\/p>\n
He claimed that there is a risk of running the state in an autocratic and authoritarian manner by misusing the law. General Secretary Pokharel also expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the incumbent government. <\/p>\n
“We are starting the program by facing the pain of power supply under the rule of the Prime Minister who does nothing but work. It also shows how the work is being done,” he said. <\/p>\n
He said that although the government was discussed in virtual medium, the work has not been done in a way that the people can feel it in reality.<\/p>\n
He said that the people should be scared instead of being convinced by the government that got the popular mandate. <\/p>\n
Pokharel pointed out the need to make the role of the UML parliamentary party more effective in such a situation. <\/p>\n
He said, “There is a lot of discussion in the virtual world, but in reality, nothing has been done so that the general public can feel how the work is being done in reality.”<\/p>\n
