The Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Industry has issued a serious warning <\/p>\n
to take action against those involved in illegal trade. The government has warned of stern action against the sale of unlabelled, sub-standard, adulterated and smuggled goods in the market. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has issued Notice No. 2083\u00f784 of the current fiscal year. Issuing 03\u00f7083-848, it has clarified that those involved in illegal business activities will be brought to book. <\/p>\n
The Ministry and the Department have said that serious attention has been drawn to the complaints and complaints received that essential food, beverages and clothes of daily consumption are being sold illegally through various physical markets as well as digital (online) platforms. In the notice issued by the Department, it has been reminded that consumers’ right to quality goods and services has been ensured by the ‘Consumer Protection Act, 2075’ and ‘Regulation 2076’.<\/p>\n
“Illegal adulteration, smuggling and selling sub-standard goods are punishable and unforgivable,” the notice reads. <\/p>\n
In line with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies’ policy to maintain market hygiene, the Department has directed all the entrepreneurs involved in production, import, transportation, storage and sales and distribution to fully comply with the obligations, terms and restrictions as stipulated by the law. <\/p>\n
The Ministry and the Department have warned to intensify market monitoring and take stern action as per the law against any entrepreneur who violates the law and plays with the health and rights of consumers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
